The eagles are a rock band formed in LA in the early 1970’s. The band members include Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. They’ve won six Grammys, and they have six number one albums. They also won five American Music Awards and have five number one singles as well. Ranking at the 37th spot on Rolling Stone’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time,” their award winning album Hotel California is one of the best known albums from the time period.
Some of their top rated songs are “Already Gone,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” “Hotel California,” and “Life’s Been Good”. Also, “Rocky Mountain Way” and “Desperado” are really well known. Their debut album, Eagles, is one of my favorites. I think their greatest hits album is really amazing too. They also have the albums Desperado, Hotel California, and The Long Run.
I do not know of many other teens my age who listen to the Eagles, which I think is a shame. I grew up listening to the Eagles. My mother and older brother would play their albums on road trips on the way to Nevada. I love the Eagles. As luck would have it, the first concert I ever went to was to see Joe Walsh, who used to play guitar in the band. He was actually a part of the James Gang as well. He is an immensely talented guitarist, one of my favorites. Though none of the other previous Eagles band members were there, he absolutely rocked it. Everyone there was really excited and he even got an encore. Every single member of the Eagles is insanely talented and they all contributed a lot to the band in their own ways.
The band mixes high-pitched harmonizing vocals with loud bass guitar, as well as amazing guitar solos. Their music is so catchy I can’t help but sing along to their songs. They have really interesting lyrics and lyrical patterns. Some of my favorite songs are “Heartache Tonight,” “Witchy Woman”, and “I Can’t Tell You Why.” Personally, I really enjoy their live recordings. Many bands are really good when they record in studio, but fall a little flat when it comes to live performances in concert. Or, it operates the opposite way. This is not the case for the Eagles. They sound just as amazing, if not better, on their live recordings.
