Ever wonder what Nova kids do during their lunch time? Want to know more about your peers the Nova community? Well, you should be reading this!

Nova Kids and the Community

James and I went around Nova and interviewed and variety of students and a teacher. We asked them questions about Nova’s community and what they do at school. We interviewed four juniors and our animation teacher Stefan. We asked them questions like: “Where in the Community do Nova students go get there coffee, if not coffee what would they get?”, “When you come to Nova, do you feel at home?”, “Do you attend a committee?”, “What do you do during lunch time?” and “How many classes are you taking/teaching this semester?”
First person we interviewed was our animation teacher Stefan. He doesn’t drink coffee but likes to go to Victrola, a local coffee shop up on 15th avenue next to QFC. He usually gets a herbal tea with honey. When we asked Stefan if he felt at home at Nova he answered with a firm ‘Yes!’. We asked him what committee he attends and he said he’s in charge of ‘3 Way Soccer’. He usually goes to Madison Market for food during his lunch time. Stefan is teaching six classes this semester.

Ren was the second person we interviewed. She likes drinking coffee but what she likes most in her drinks is whip cream. Ren goes to any local coffee shops, doesn’t matter which one she goes to but she doesn’t go to Starbucks. When we asked her if she felt at home at Nova, she said ‘Yes’. During lunch, she eats her lunch that she brought from home and hangs out with her friends. Ren attends Yearbook committee every Thursdays at 1:30.  She is attending six classes this semester.

We interviewed Cheyenne at the same time. She likes coffee and goes to the local Starbucks to get ice coffee. Cheyenne feels very much so at home, when she‘s at Nova. She also attends Yearbook committee. When we asked her what she liked to do during lunch time she replied, “I buy school lunch at an outrageous price of $2.75 and talks with my beloved friends.” Cheyenne is taking five classes this semester.

Adam was the fourth person we interviewed. He drinks coffee but is trying to cut down on drinking coffee because it’s to strong for him. He also goes to Starbucks when he has a craving for coffee and he likes to get a cup of mocha. When we asked Adam if he felt at home at Nova, he said “Yes I do”. He attends 3 Way Soccer with Stefan on Thursdays and regular Soccer with Brian on Tuesday. Adam eats lunch in Brian’s room and plays cards with his fellow students. He is taking six classes this semester.

Anna was our the last person we interviewed. She also drinks coffee and brings her own coffee from home. Anna drinks regular coffee that she brews at home. When we asked her if she felt at home at Nova she said, “Sure”. Anna doesn’t go to committee. During her lunch time she socializes instead of eat food. She’s also attending six classes this semester.

From what James and I have heard from these few Nova-tees, we see that Nova has a majority of people like to drink coffee or other drinks in the community. They like Nova and it is like a second home to them. They also are involved with Nova’s community and participating in committees that we have. Nova is an awesome place to be!
